I can see the background and Mangara on the front. He looks like as if he's ready for the dangers that lie ahead of him. I wonder what it is?

This is definitely one of my favorite illustrations in Time Spiral. You guys really managed to set the scene in this piece, from the confused/thoughtful look on Mangara's face to the barren/desolate look of the ground and the cloudy, discolored sky. Very nice work.
Well, when we've got the feedback of finished artwork of this, there was a part about his face, that we have to change it to afro american look. We did it. Your comments has great value for us, because (probably) you are an expert in the background story of Dominaria. But the truth is, that we only try to follow the instructions, we can't read every book and we can't collect every info about the characters. Anyway, when we get the commissions (in some case) these characters have different (code)names, and we just try to follow the descriptions... In THIS case our ignorance was the problem, if it is a problem... Thank your comment!

Wow. Great works as usual. I am a Magic flavor lover, so I was extremely happy to see Mangara, Kaervek and other iconic characters getting cards and faces. This one interests me :) Were you told to make Mangara appear more "African"? The image at the left feel more like Caucasian, and, to tell the truth, would be a better one for him, because AFAIK from the storyline, Mangara was not a Jamuraan native, but from Corondor, and he was deeply tanned, but "white" man. But that is a problem of MTG creative department, and it does not hinder the fact that the artwork is great! Thanks for bringing him into life!
